Live StreamLive Streaming comes with a variety of challenges, especially in Tasmania. Our live streams typically stream over the mobile network and require 4G or 5G coverage especially if off site. To ensure the best possible connection, we have invested in professional-grade equipment as well as having the best internet connection possible at our funeral home, including extra boosters.
Unfortunately, there can be sound/hearing/network problems - particularly if a voice is too far away from the microphone or if a person is speaking too softly and if network signals drop out.
We always record a high-quality version of the livestream, as back up just incase there are unexpected problems. Which can then be made available to the family shortly after the funeral.
Minor dropouts can and do occur, this is simply a trait of portable live streaming. These mostly present themselves as video stutters, but can also be 5-10 second dropouts in the stream. Far less often they can also be a couple of minutes long. In general, the further away a service is from urban infrastructure, the more likely it is that brief interruptions will take place. We do not offer discounts or refunds for such issues.
In rare cases a major outage or network failure may occur. Our policy defines a major dropout as at least 5 minutes of sustained downtime. In such cases, the family/client will be entitled to a discount or refund by Westella Funerals to be agreed upon by both parties.
We are proud to have a 99.6% success rate and we always strive to provide quality funeral live streams.
